What do you do when your video has been recorded upside down? Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. Before you go to re-record the entire thing, there are tools available to rotate videos for Instagram on your computer before uploading them.
As Instagram does not have the option to rotate video files within the app, flicking the file over to desktop first allows you to then easily edit your video using the Clipchamp video editor. It’s free to use for a limited number of videos per month and the free option includes access to all editing features including Rotate.
Rotate videos for Instagram with Clipchamp
Here is an easy 4 step process on how you can correct videos to use them on Instagram.
Step 1: Select the video you wish to rotate
Make sure that the video is available on your computer, log into Clipchamp, then drag and drop the file into the “Convert my video” box in the dashboard.
Step 2: Click Edit Video
By clicking on Edit Video you will be able to access a range of editing tools such as trim, crop, rotate, flip and adjust. No technical editing skills required!
Step 3: Rotate your video
Click on Rotate to turn your video clockwise or counter-clockwise. You can also trim your video down to 60 seconds to fit within Instagram’s video length constraints. You might want to crop your video here too to fit within Instagram’s square ratio of 1:1.
Within this step you can choose to compress and convert your video, but we recommend to leave the default settings in place.
Step 4: Click Start
Once your video has finished processing, you can save it, copy it back to your mobile and then post your edited video to Instagram!
